Get HOOKED on Seafood

Here at the Phoenix Steakhouse and Bar we love seafood! We have many different seafood dishes on our menu for all kinds of seafood lovers. Do you have a favorite? Or are you so confused about the different kinds of seafood that you just don’t even try? We are here to help. Here is a quick breakdown of the different kinds of seafood you will find on our menu.

Firstly we have fish. This is the type of seafood with which we are all most familiar. Salmon is a popular, well known, and widely eaten fish. And not only is it delicious, it’s versatile. It goes well with many flavors making it a popular choice on many restaurant menus (ours included!). Another popular fish is tuna and here at The Phoenix Steakhouse and Bar we love tuna so much that we created our popular Ahi Tuna Sushi rolls to showcase this tasty fish.

Another popular type of seafood is shellfish and here at the Phoenix Steakhouse and Bar, we don’t skimp on the shellfish. There are two types of shellfish: crustaceans such as lobster, crabs, and prawns,  and mollusca such as clams, mussels, oysters, scallops, snails, octopi, and squid. Lobster and crab, are some of the more common seafood to find on restaurant menus. But what is the difference between them? The first thing to note is the difference in taste. Crab meat generally has a more mildly sweet taste to it and lobster meat, while not as sweet, does have a nice clean flavor. Crab meat is also a flakier meat, while lobster meat tends to be more solid. Both are extremely versatile and we have many menu items that incorporate them.

Prawns are another popular and widely know seafood and we sure didn’t forget about them at the Phoenix. Enjoy them as either an appetizer or in one of our entrees, or both! You won’t be disappointed.

To round out our seafood selections we have included squid (kalamari), oysters, and escargot on our menu. While some consider these foods only for the uber adventurous, we encourage you to try them if you haven’t before! These wonderful dishes won’t leave you disappointed.
